A group of friends doing doctrinal work at the Caminho da Redenção Spiritist Center formed the Manoel Philomeno de Miranda Project to develop programs around the practical meetings of Spiritism and the therapies that support health and well-being. After years of mediumistic experience — and after teaching the material as courses and seminars — they put their findings into book form.

The subject is a delicate one: how spirit manifestations occur during mediumistic meetings, and how a group should conduct itself around them. The treatment stays faithful to the Codification and fond of examining the phenomenon rather than merely asserting it, and it is written simply and clearly enough for a reader to go deeper into the Work of which Kardec was the missionary chosen by Jesus.
