Mediumship opens a channel through which immortality demonstrates itself and through which a great deal of good reaches people. That is precisely why, the authors argue, it asks something serious of the person who carries it. A medium who understands what the faculty is for is able to honor a commitment made before reincarnating; a medium who disregards it invites complications that reach into every part of life.
Any faculty of body, mind or soul that is pushed to one side atrophies with disuse, and mediumship is no exception. The book is direct about the mechanism: according to their mental and social conduct, mediums attract spirits with whom they resonate, take on those sentiments and ideas, and often express them without noticing. The mediumistic experience is therefore a daily matter, not an occasional one — particularly for those who intend to serve the program of the Good.
Written by authors with long mediumistic experience, it examines the subjects that bear on correct practice, guided throughout by the morals Jesus preached and lived.
